Barbara Novotny, MD

Provider & Medical Director

Barbara Novotny, MD is a Board Certified Family Physician with over 20 years of healthcare experience and a focus in Women’s Health and Pediatrics.  She loves getting to know and caring for the health needs of the whole, sometimes multi-generational family, from age 0 to 100.  She recognizes how the health of one family member affects the health and well-being of the entire family and their community.

Dr. Novotny began her medical career practicing full-spectrum family medicine (that means hospital, ER, OB, and clinic work) in rural Alaska and then on the Zuni Indian Reservation in New Mexico.  She has lived in Routt County for 11 years, first practicing for 6 years in Steamboat, and now practicing for the last 5 years at the South Routt Medical Center, in Oak Creek, as the Medical Director.

Dr. Novotny received her undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and her medical degree from Penn State College of Medicine. Dr. Novotny, along with her husband and two children, live in South Routt where she enjoys hiking, cross-country skiing, gardening, and reading.

Toni Czito, MD

Provider and Assistant Medical Director

Toni Czito is a Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician with over 38 years of experience in healthcare. She began as a nurse aide in a small hospital near her hometown in Georgia. She moved on to become an EMT in a larger hospital system, which she continued until graduating from medical school. After completing residency, she continued her career in Emergency Medicine, working with underserved communities across the US. She has extensive experience in frontline medicine working at Level 1 Trauma, Stroke and Heart Centers in North Carolina. She has been coming to Routt County for over 25 years and now calls both Colorado and North Carolina home. 

From the earliest days of her career in medicine, Toni has been committed to serving local communities with the greatest needs. She was raised in a community supported by rural healthcare and is excited to have an opportunity to continue to give back with South Routt Medical Center.

Toni graduated from the University of Georgia (go dawgs!) and the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine. She is married with three children and enjoys all things outdoors with her family and friends. You might also find her keeping up with her small farm!

Miranda Schrock, PA

Provider

Miranda Schrock, a Board-Certified Physician Assistant, was born and raised in the Yampa Valley. She is committed to serving rural and underserved communities through primary care. Prior to PA school, she worked as an EMT-B in emergency medicine at UCHealth Yampa Valley Medical Center and St. Mary’s Medical Center in Grand Junction, CO.

Miranda earned her Master of Health Science in Physician Assistant Studies with honors from Charles R. Drew University in Los Angeles, CA. There, she became a National Health Service Corps Scholar, reinforcing her dedication to expanding healthcare access. “Completing my PA training in Los Angeles County’s underserved communities solidified my passion for increasing access to high-quality patient care. I’m honored to bring that commitment back to the rural communities of the Yampa Valley,” says Miranda.

Outside the clinic, Miranda enjoys skiing, mountain biking, and trail running. She is also actively involved in local community initiatives. Miranda looks forward to providing care for you and your families and building a trusting patient-provider relationship with all of you.

Linda Casner, Nurse Practitioner

Provider

Linda Casner is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner with 30 years of health care experience. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University, and both a Master of Science and a post-master certification as a nurse practitioner from University of Colorado. She has practiced in multiple health care roles (clinical, administrative, patient safety), and has worked with South Routt Medical Center since 2010.
